Business:Before we can attract new business to the city, we must first take care of local businesses. Once the infrastructure is in place to care for our own, we will naturally be in a position to attract others.
We can do this by:
Budget:The current administration has proven their ability to not only balance our budget, but to keep us out of any major economic decline. However, a big issue that Lebanon struggles with is stagnant business growth. In recent years, real business development has not match the growing needs of the city.
For the City of Lebanon to continue to prosper financially, we need to take a fresh look at what we are doing to attract new business and what we are doing to help current businesses here grow. We can, and must, do more to work in direct partnership with the business community we have. For businesses to grow, we must do more facilitate them, and to help our economy grow we must:

Youth:For too long, Lebanon City youth have taken a back seat where it counts!! We cannot expect young people to realize their gifts and talents and invest them in our city, without casting a vision of a better tomorrow. We need to collectively advocate for new youth opportunities.
Possible opportunities for young people in the future could be:
Housing:A major issue that Lebanon currently faces is quality and affordable housing.
Throughout the years, city housing has rapidly declined. This is an issue not only local government but all of us should be focusing more attention on. We need to expand housing opportunities we through modern real-estate development, but we also need to work towards improving the housing that we already have. Another issue we struggle with in Lebanon is sidewalk quality and maintenance. Currently, city ordinance mandates home owners to maintain/repair any sidewalk by their properties, fining people who do not. We should all be advocating for the city to re-evaluate the fining metric and work towards providing aid throughout the repair process. |
